“Lee Daniels Hosts Queer Night at the American Pavilion”
(Cannes, France) Packed wall to wall with people, the American Pavilion was the backdrop for one of the hottest parties at the Cannes Film Festival, “Queer Night, Hosted by Director Lee Daniels.” Daniels, whose film “Paperboy” starring Zach Efron, Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack is in competition, enjoyed the warm reception from guests as he danced the night away and hit the turn tables for a portion of the evening when he posed as guest DJ for this amazing event.
“Jeff Nichols Stops by the American Pavilion to Dish About His Film Mud”
(Cannes, France) AMPAV alumni Jeff Nichols stopped by the American Pavilion to celebrate his film “Mud” which is slated for its Red Carpet Premiere tomorrow evening at the Lumiere Theater. The film stars Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey and tells the story of Mud (McConaughey), a fugitive who with the help of two young boys is able to evade Bounty Hunters who are fresh on his trail, in order to get back to his true love (Witherspoon).

(Cannes, France) Congratulations to the winners of the Student Filmmaker and Emerging Artist Showcase here on Thursday!
The Emerging Artist and Student Filmmaker Showcase have been American Pavilion mainstays that give a definitive spotlight to tomorrow’s generation of artists who exhibit incredible skill and command of the film image.
Every year, a talented group of individuals are selected and invited to Cannes and the American Pavilion to showcase their project for Pavilion guests.
Film Panel: The Central Park Five with Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and Dave McMahon
(Cannes, France) Directors Ken Burns and Philip Kaufman shared a moment at the American Pavilion before Burns participated in a panel discussion with his daughter Sarah Burns, and David McMahon for their new documentary “The Central Park 5” which is screening here at the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival.
In Conversation: Philip Kaufman for Hemingway & Gellhorn
(Cannes, France) After an amazing discussion on his latest HBO film “Hemingway & Gellhorn” which is making its debut here at the Cannes Film Festival, director Philip Kaufman participated in a book signing on the American Pavilion terrace alongside panel moderator and book author Annette Insdorf for “Philip Kaufman: Contemporary Film Directors.”
“Hemingway & Gellhorn” is slated for its red carpet debut on Friday, May 24th at 10:30pm at the Lumiere Theater in Cannes.
