Picture yourself at the Cannes International Film Festival
cannes culinary program

May 10-26, 2008 | Cannes, France

The 15- to 25-person American Pavilion culinary team enjoys pre-Festival tours of wineries, restaurants and outdoor markets in the south of France during the first three days of the program. Once the Festival begins on May 14, the culinary team prepares up to 1,000 meals per day—breakfasts, lunches, dinners and special events inlcuding receptions and parties. Work shifts average six to eight hours and the culinary team works every day of the program after the first three days of cultural tours. The 2008 program dates are May 10 to May 26.

Successful candidates for the Culinary Program are those who are hard-working, know how to be part of a team and can be resourceful and creative with limited resources and demanding deadlines.

The $975 program fee includes:

• Housing (shared with three to four other culinary team members or students from the filmmaker program) in a European-style residence apartment
• Two meals per day (breakfast and lunch)
• Festival accreditation badge.

Participants are responsible for their transportation to and from Cannes (the nearest airport is Nice, France).

Applicants must submit the following in one envelope:

• Completed application form
• Resumé
• At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher or employer on letterhead
• If you are currently a student, a copy of latest transcript (unofficial is acceptable)
• A $50 non-refundable application fee payable to "The American Pavilion"

Applicants must submit the following via email:

• One standard passport-size photo for accreditation in .jpg digital format. Minimum size: 100 X 140 pixels. Maximum size: 1MB. File title must be applicant's full name (i.e. doe_john.jpg). Submit via email to culinary@ampav.com. You do not need to send a copy in the envelope.
