The American Pavilion Worldwide Student Program, Cast of Ocean's Thirteen, red carpet at The Cannes International Film Festival

Since 1997 this prestigious competition has showcased the works of the next generation of filmmakers. 10 short films will be selected by our panel of industry judges and shown in the Roger Ebert Conference Center at The American Pavilion to invited guests attending The Festival. It's a festival within a festival at the most important event on the international film calendar.

Since its inception 23 years ago, The American Pavilion has served as the hub for Hollywood's presence in Cannes. It's is the place to be if you want to be in the middle of the action.

Early Bird Entry deadline:
November 4, 2011

Regular Entry deadline:
January 27, 2012

Late Entry deadline (additional fees apply):
March 2, 2012

Finalists for screening at Cannes will be announced:
April 10, 2012

Winners will be announced at the Cannes Film Festival:
May 2012

Entry Guidelines:

Films accepted from current undergraduate or graduate school students and emerging filmmakers.Films should be under 20 minutes in length. The film must be available for exhibition in DVD format. Films must be completed in 2010, 2011, or 2012.

Benefits:

Visibility at the Cannes Film Festival and in Los Angeles. Finalist films will be screened at a special invitation only screening in The Roger Ebert Conference Center during the Cannes Film Festival. Finalist films will be listed on promotional material at the Cannes Film Festival. Finalist films will be included on an American Pavilion compilation DVD to be submitted to professionals in the film industry. Winning films to be screened at a special Industry Showcase screening in Los Angeles.
